Get active this summer!

This summer you can improve your health, and help create a future without breast cancer by getting active in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) – Atlantic Region. By uniting sport and fundraising, you’ll have a winning combination!

Here are two ways that you can enjoy your favorite summer sport, while supporting CBCF – Atlantic Region:

Batting Against Breast Cancer:

Batting Against Breast Cancer® is a family friendly, community-led softball/baseball program.  It’s a fun way to take a swing at breast cancer while building awareness and fundraising for the cause.  Within your season schedule, you and your team can choose a day for you to show your support.  Once you register we will send you a program support kit with fundraising tips to get you started.  Join us by stepping up to the plate, making an impact in your community and  helping to create a future without breast cancer.

Play-A-Round (PAR):

Play- A- Round (PAR) is a one-day fundraising and awareness golf event in support of CBCF – Atlantic Region that is open to you and your group. We will provide you with posters announcing that your establishment will be taking part on Saturday, August 3, 2013, and we will offer simple suggestions on how to get involved.

On PAR day, players and staff can wear pink items and pay a minimum deuce ($2) donation to show their support for those affected by breast cancer. Club restaurants or canteens can offer a pink drink or food item and donate a portion of sales. If you have a driving range, you can designate a bucket of balls as your driving hope bucket with a portion of the proceeds coming back to CBCF – Atlantic Region. Another option is to place donation tins at your pro shop. The possibilities are endless – you can choose any way you’d like to show your support!

Please note:  PAR day is Saturday, August 3, 2013 but you are free to choose your own date to show your support if this date does is not convenient for you.
