Pink Days in Bloom

pink gardencenter.jpgPink Days in Bloom has taken the gardening world by storm! Spreading from Newfoundland, to PEI and Nova Scotia, all the way to BC. Pink Days in Bloom is more than just a fundraiser, it’s a way that breast cancer survivor, Linda Ryan founder of Pink Days in Bloom, has been bringing much needed awareness to breast cancer. Through various events at gardening centers, home decor shops, bakeries, afternoon teas and even musical performances, the spirit of Pink Days in Bloom can be felt all around. All events have a focus on feeling good about yourself while going through and after a cancer diagnosis. Pink Days in Bloom first started when Linda herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. During her journey she found solace in her garden, visiting gardening centers, and surrounding herself with the natural beauty of the world. After seeing how much powers the spirit of healing and growing had on her, it was clear that she needed to make this feeling available for other women. And here, Pink Days in Bloom was born.

Linda’s Pink Days in Bloom events have become such a staple during the summer months and even leading into Christmas that she has guest coming from far and wide, always wondering where the magic and healing will happen next. “Of course, besides all this magic, beauty, elegance, fun, strength, laughter and love that we get to experience through Pink Days in Bloom, is the hope that beats in our hearts for every dollar donated to research! Living with stage four breast cancer, I am acutely aware of the importance of having hope. It's not just, "I hope I'll be ok"....It’s a strong, concrete hope that blooms in my heart when I read about the research and developments being made to eradicate this awful disease.” – Sherry Bishop, friend of Linda and fellow cancer survivor.
