Book Signing: Fortress, by local author Marci Lin Melvin

The new version of Fortress, a wonderfully written historical romance, is sure to win the hearts and curiosity of readers. Fortress is the first of a trilogy of novels richly steeped in the history of Nova Scotia. With its original release in 2005, Fortress raised $3,500 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic Region! Once again, Marci has generously pledged all proceeds from the reissue of Fortress to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic Region.

Marci Lin Melvin is the author of several plays, which have been produced in Nova Scotia, and has published six children’s books and an historical romance. Marci lived in Ile Royale (Cape Breton) for sixteen years, and spent many weekends roaming the reconstructed Fortress of Louisburg grounds with her child, gathering information for this novel. Appointed to the Family and Provincial Court of Nova Scotia in 2008, Ms. Melvin presently sits as a Family Court Judge.

Stop by Anatolia, 8881 Commercial Street, New Minas, between 1-3pm on May 12th and have a cup of tea with the author, Marci!
