Get Pink’d! Day a Huge Success

Get Pinked Proclamation_web.jpgOn Thursday, March 13, 2014, colleagues, friends and teammates participated in Get Pink’d! Participants bought a button for $5 and wore pink to show their support for a future without breast cancer. CBCF – Atlantic Region saw a 55% jump in participants this year and raised over $35,000!

They raised $14,725.94 in support of a future without breast cancer. Cap It For Cancer is the idea of Scott Fraser, owner of Milne Court Petro Canada in New Minas, Nova Scotia. 



First-Ever Fellowship Awarded

Cap it for cancer_web.jpgAn early career breast cancer researcher has received an award that will help to broaden his skills, while working under one of Atlantic Canada’s top experts in the field.  Dr. Laurence Madera has been awarded CBCF – Atlantic Region’s first ever Research Fellowship Award.  He is working at Dalhousie University under the guidance of Dr. David Hoskin.
   


Newfoundland and Labrador Library Launch

Cap it for cancer_web.jpgOn Monday, April 14, 2014, CBCF – Atlantic Region, the Lupin Partnership for Newfoundland and Labrador and the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries launched a new collection of breast resources that are now available in libraries throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. 

CBCF – Atlantic Region is proud to announce that it has now provided funding for a collection of breast health and breast cancer resources that are now accessible in libraries across all Atlantic Canadian provinces.
