Thanks to our donors

We’d like to thank Reason for Hope Society ($10,000 donation), Women Alike Abreast a River ($14,000 donation) and Sobeys and C.H. Robinson (over $20,000) for their generous donations.

Reason for Hope Society generously donated $10,000 in September to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) – Atlantic Region to be directed to metastatic breast cancer research being conducted by Dr. Stephen Lewis.  A variety of fundraising activities took place to raise these funds.  The group has made a commitment to raise another $20,000 over the next two years to help further Dr. Lewis’ research on metastatic breast cancer.

Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS)

Each year a variety of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) teams host home game events to show their support for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and those affected by breast cancer.

The signal for athletic teams to start planning is when Jeff Speedy, Head Coach of the UNB Fredericton Women’s Basketball, launches his annual national initiative, Shoot for the Cure. This Women’s Basketball program triggers other teams of participating University athletic departments to get on board to showcase their combined support, from football to hockey.
