Turning the rink pink

On Friday, February 24th, the Eastern Edge Women’s Hockey League held their 4th annual Pink in the Rink in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic Region.

The women kicked off their evening with a comical slip-and-slide, no skill required, silly shoot-out event. Players spruced up their hockey gear with bits of flash ranging from tiaras to tutus, feather boas to sunglasses, and even a couple sets of wings in the group!

Shots were taken, games were played, and pledges raised to support the breast cancer cause.

Through this year’s event, the league raised over $18,000 and that number is still climbing. To date, the Eastern Edge Hockey women have raised approximately $63,000 and they aren’t done yet!
