The registration phase of the National Grant Competition in Earlier Detection of Breast Cancer is now closed.
Fall 2011! Advancing technologies with strategic potential for enabling the earlier detection of breast cancer.
The objective of this competition is to support scientific excellence and innovation that will advance the development and implementation of technologies of strategic potential for the earlier detection of breast cancer.
This is a one-time opportunity that is focused on strategic technology advancement with emphasis on enabling the earlier detection of the first primary malignancy in breast cancer. The focus is on projects that will lead to significant advancements in technology with application in the near future as an immediate and direct outcome of the project. Novel approaches to this problem are encouraged, as are high impact projects with the potential to dramatically improve current methods of earlier detection of breast cancer. This competition will also support research aimed at understanding psychosocial considerations for the adoption of earlier detection technologies. This competition is not intended to support projects that have a primary focus on elucidating biological mechanisms, onco-surveillance, treatment discovery, or that represent an incremental step in part of a long-term line of investigation.
This competition is open to applicants from across the country. Applicants may apply for both Regional and national competitions.
Due to the nature of the peer-review process, all registration and application materials must be completed in English.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a CBCF Regional Competition. This National Grant Competition is provided in addition to CBCF Regional Competitions.
