"Vision 2020: Focus on the Future", CBCF publishes a report from the 2020 Task Force

Published On 5/27/2012

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – BC/Yukon Region (CBCF) is pleased to announce the publication of “Vision 2020: Focus on the Future” - the summary report that will chart the course for how we plan to reach our goal of a future without the fear of breast cancer by 2020, when breast cancer is a manageable and treatable disease.

Our 2020 Task Force, made up of some of BC’s brightest minds and esteemed experts, has been hard at work and focused on five key areas: prevention, early detection, research, treatment and emerging issues in the health care workforce. Their job? To determine what needs to happen to get us to our goal. The Task Force representatives have developed comprehensive reports in each of their respective areas, outlining specific recommendations for work to be done, changes to be made and programs to be developed. We are excited to present to you a summary of that extensive work, the publication entitled Vision 2020: Focus on the Future.

This report clearly outlines the roadmap that will set our direction for the years to come, highlighting priority projects and recommendations that will help CBCF achieve our vision of a future without breast cancer.

It’s going to take much more hard work to realize this plan – many partnerships and alliances. We’re going to need your support. But for now, please take a few moments to read our report over and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Our future course of action is clear. We’re excited about the possibilities as well as determined to change breast cancer as we now know it.
