Your Dollars at Work

As a national leader in breast cancer funding, the Foundation has allocated over $248 million towards breast cancer research, health promotion, advocacy, education and awareness programs since 1986. Our donor dollars are put to work by investing in the brightest and best minds in breast cancer research and community health programs that are leading groundbreaking work across the breast cancer spectrum which includes:

  • Regional grant programs administered by our offices in BC/Yukon, Prairies/NWT, Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Our regional grant programs also direct funds to community health initiatives.

  • Through our partnership with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, which directs funds raised through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure to research projects based in Quebec.

  • In 2011, through the National Grant Competition on the Earlier Detection of Breast Cancer.

  • Through Foundation-led research focusing on women’s experiences of cancer care. In some regions, this research has identified key priorities for action. These partnership- building projects take time but result in new funds to the cause and the identification of key priorities based on patients’ needs.
