Volunteers are the backbone of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In fact, the Foundation was created nearly 20 years ago by a small group of volunteers, whose vision was a future without breast cancer.

From this modest grassroots beginning, a national community of active volunteers has grown – all dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Canadians living with breast cancer.

In working with the Foundation, volunteers play many roles - answering phones to making pink ribbons to organizing Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure events in their communities. The support volunteers provide is invaluable, and the Foundation would not be able to fund innovative breast cancer research, education and awareness programs without their dedicated support.

Why volunteer?

In Canada, there are 21,600 reasons to volunteer- that’s the number of Canadians who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.

Then there are the tens of thousands of others – mothers, daughters, husbands, sons, partners and friends – who are also touched by this disease

It is the continued dedication, commitment and goodwill of our volunteers that allows the Foundation to pursue our goal of creating a future without breast cancer. To become involved a National Office volunteer, or to assist at your local Chapter please click on one of the links below:
