BREASTFEEDING
Women who breastfeed, particularly for longer periods of time such as a year or more, have a lower risk for breast cancer. It does not matter if the period of breastfeeding is for one child, or combined over more than one birth. The effect of breastfeeding on breast cancer risk may be related to breastfeeding lowering a woman’s total number of menstrual periods over her life.
