Canadian Cancer Society Metastatic Breast Cancer Fund

grandma-and-child_graphic.jpgMetastatic breast cancer is a type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body such as the lungs, liver, bones and the brain.

In Canada, 5-10% of breast cancers are metastatic at initial diagnosis and approximately 30% of women who are initially diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will go on to develop metastatic breast cancer.  Although metastatic breast cancer is considered incurable, there are treatment options which can control the disease for extended periods of time.

As a member of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Fund, you will help women who have a difficult path that is unique from other breast cancer journeys.  Your support will fund critical research to better understand why breast cancer metastasizes and improvements in treatments and their associated side effects. In addition, your gift will also help connect women with other women to strengthen and widen their support community and provide the information and support they need to thrive and live life to the fullest.

As a Metastatic Breast Cancer Fund monthly supporter, you will receive:

  • An annual update to see how your contributions are making a difference to Canadians living with metastatic breast cancer and the latest research findings.

  • An annual tax receipt that will be sent in February.

  • Our quarterly newsletter featuring news, stories, exclusive invitations and other ways to get involved with our organization.
