Every year the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Region, along with its donors, sponsors and partners raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the purpose of supporting the advancement of breast cancer research, education, diagnosis and treatment.

Each year the foundation awards those dollars to specific projects that make a difference either in our communities or in the area of medicine. The Medical Advisory Committee of the Region reviews proposals for medical research grants and fellowships while the Community Grants Advisory Committee reviews community grants.

The Region raises funds for the following purposes: awareness, education, advocacy and research. While advisory committees counsel the Board on the use of funds, the BC Region Board, representing a cross-section of BC's medical, business and volunteer communities, controls the allocations of all money raised in British Columbia.
