Elizabeth Edwards to deliver keynote address at Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's 50 over FIFTY
With the shared vision of creating a future without breast cancer, the CBCF – Atlantic Region is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Edwards will deliver the keynote dinner address at 50 Over Fifty, scheduled for May 27, 2010 at the Cunard Event Centre in Halifax.
Mrs. Edwards, a successful author and passionate advocate for children’s education and healthcare access, was diagnosed with breast cancer first in 2004 and again in 2007. In her address, she will share her battle and provide her perspective on living “An Inspired life”.
Mrs. Edwards has inspired countless women through her willingness to publicly share her battle with breast cancer. In her books Saving Graces: Finding Solace and Strength from Friends and Strangers and her newest publication Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life’s Adversities, she reflects on her trials, tragedies, and triumphs.
An accomplished attorney, Mrs. Edwards is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Law where she met her husband, former US Senator John Edwards. Mrs. Edwards is the proud mother of four children: Catharine, Emma Claire, and Jack. Her first child, Wade, died in 1996.
Despite the demands of raising young children, Mrs. Edwards still finds time to participate in community service. She remains active in the Wade Edwards Foundation, and is involved in a variety of charitable efforts.
