WHY A YARD SALE
The stuff you no longer need can help create a future without breast cancer
Yard Sale for the Cure is a series of yard sales that take place in selected neighbourhoods across Canada on May 29th, 2010 in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Participating individuals help raise money for breast cancer research, awareness and education by hosting a yard sale, by shopping a yard sale in their community, or by volunteering. In 2005, the inaugural event was held in the Toronto Beaches and it was a huge success, raising $45,000 and bringing community members together for this important cause. Yard Sale for the Cure is widely publicized and advertised attracting people to shop yard sales in their community. Now a growing number of people from across Canada are hosting yard sales on May 29th, 2010 across the country to make real change happen. To date, Yard Sale for the Cure has raised over $650,000.
