FUNDING
Through its research, fellowship, and community grant programs, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Region invests in projects that address the full spectrum of breast health and breast cancer. This includes:
Since 2000, the Foundation has allocated more than $50 million in Ontario alone to breast cancer research, community health projects, and other programs that will make a difference in the lives of people touched by breast cancer.
In addition to the work funded directly through its grant programs, the Foundation is a funding partner in the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance, an organization that combines the resources of private, public and non-profit organizations to fund breast cancer research. From 2001 to 2006, the Foundation was the lead funder of the Ontario Breast Cancer Community Research Initiative, a research team that focused on the social, psychological, emotional and spiritual impacts of breast cancer.
The Foundation also allocates funding to other strategic initiatives that are aligned with the our vision and mission but fall outside the parameters or timing of established funding mechanisms.
