FUNDED INITIATIVES, 2007 FISCAL YEAR
Through our strategic initiatives and open calls for proposals, the canadian Breast Cancer Foundation makes significant investments in research, fellowships, community health projects and other cause-related work. For the 2007 fiscal year, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Region allocated more than $9.5 million in support of new grants and initiatives.
The Foundation's funding decisions support our goal of having the broadest possible impact on breast health and breast cancer by funding relevant work that responds to the needs of those most affected by the dsiease. Approved initiatives build knowledge and improve practice in all areas of breast cancer, including prevention, detection, treatment, care, support and education, and demonstrate quality and innovation. They were recommended for funding based on a rigorous peer review process.
