How Your Support Makes a Difference
Breast cancer is a complex disease that affects people’s lives in many ways. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s vision is to create a future without breast cancer, with a mission to work collaboratively to fund, support and advocate for relevant and innovative breast cancer research, meaningful education and awareness programs, early diagnosis and effective treatment, and a positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation puts donor dollars to work in support of its mission by awarding grants for research and community health projects across the full spectrum of breast cancer, including prevention and education, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and care. All investments are made with a strategic focus on the lives of those most affected by breast cancer.
In addition to the grants we award, the Foundation focuses its cause related work in the areas of health promotion, community awareness and volunteer development. By addressing the issue of breast cancer in diverse ways, the body of work we fund holds great potential to make a difference.
Each year, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation directs millions of dollars to breast cancer research and community health projects. We are committed to using donor’s dollars wisely and make investments with a strategic focus on the impact on the lives of those affected by breast cancer including reducing disease burden; improving women’s experiences/quality of life; and increasing knowledge about breast cancer prevention and treatment.
Our granting process is guided by four principles: rigour, accountability, fairness and transparency.
