Christy Teasdale
Chair, Ontario Region Board of Directors

Christy has been in the marketing communications industry for over 25 years. Christy is the currently Executive Director, Marketing and Communications for the Electronics Products Recycling Association (ERPA) a national, not-for-profit electronics stewardship organization. In the decade before joining EPRA, Christy ran Decision Source Consulting Inc., a marketing consulting business, and she was Forum Director at Cambridge Forums. Prior to that she was Vice President at The Mohan Group. Christy also spent a few years living abroad with her family in London, England and prior to that, she was with the WPP Group of companies for over 16 years, and most recently held the position of Senior Vice President, General Manager of Wunderman Canada where she was responsible for managing the promotional division as well as the human resources, office administration and client service divisions.

Christy joined the Ontario Region Board in 2007, and was elected Chair in June 2014. Prior to which she was vice chair since June 2009. Christy also has been a member of our Cause Leadership & Brand Management Committee since 2006. Christy represents the Region on the CBCF National Board.


Jose Ribau
Vice-Chair, Ontario Region Board of Directors

Jose Ribau is Vice President, Client and Competitive Insights, Customer Marketing at CIBC. Jose has been with CIBC since receiving his MBA from Queen’s University in 2000.

Prior to his work at CIBC, Jose’s background includes research, business development and consulting. While doing his Masters of Science at McMaster University, Jose conducted diabetes-related research that assessed morphological trends in Type 1 diabetes. He documented the impact of diabetic complications in cardiovascular patients and also published peer-reviewed articles. He was also a biomedical consultant in Portugal where he led the installation of a new microscopy and imaging lab at Coimbra University.

Jose is a regular fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, a member of the Canadian Marketing Association’s Retail Leadership Council and an Advisory board member of the Schulich Masters of Business Analytics Program.

Jose joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2008, and was elected Vice-Chair in June 2014. Jose is also a member of the Research and Health Care Advisory Committee, and the Revenue Development Ad-Hoc Committee.


Christine Pigeon
Vice-Chair, Ontario Region Board of Directors

Chrissy is Vice President & Team Lead for MasterCard Worldwide. Chrissy leads customer relationship management at MasterCard for multiple credit card issuing banks and financial institutions across Canada. Prior to joining MasterCard Worldwide, Chrissy held previous roles in strategy, marketing leadership, and finance with McKinsey & Company, a global strategic management consulting firm, Canadian Tire Financial Services and Loblaw Companies Limited.

Chrissy holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School, and an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, London. She has extensive community experience through roles she has held such as Board Member with Transitions for Youth Ontario, Past Chairperson of the Caroline Brohman Memorial Fund at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and as a Counsellor at Camp Oochigeas.

Chrissy joined the Ontario Region Board in 2011 and was elected Vice-Chair in September 2014. She is also a member of the Governance & Nominating Committee, and the Revenue Development Committee.

Suzanne Bays
Board Member

Suzanne recently accepted a role with the City of Ottawa, as the Program Manager for Transit Information Technology, where she is leading the technology projects portfolio for OC Transpo. Prior to this, Suzanne was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she specialized in IT Program & Project Management, Transformation and Performance Management, with a particular emphasis on successful large scale technology implementations. Suzanne successfully led the Programme & Project Management team for PwC Canada’s Federal Government practice. Previously Suzanne led PwC’s Microsoft Practice nationally, as well as several other leadership roles.

Suzanne has over 25 years of management consulting experience; both in delivery and management oversight.

Suzanne has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, along with a Master of Business Administration (Finance & Industrial Relations) from the University of Western Ontario. She is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and holds the designation of ICD.D.

Suzanne joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2013, she a member of the Ontario Region Governance Committee, and Vice Chair of the National Governance & Nominating Committee.


Valerie Steele
Board Member

Valerie Steele is a Chartered Accountant with a specialty designation in Investigative and Forensic Accounting. She is a results-focused business leader with a broad range of experience managing businesses, projects and people across geographies, industries and functional areas. Prior to 2009, she was a partner in a major Canadian public accounting firm.

Valerie joined the Ontario Region Board in September 2014. Valerie has also been a member of the National Board of Directors, which she joined in 2009 and currently holds the position of 2nd Vice-Chair on the National Board. Valerie is also a member of the National Audit, Finance & Investment Committee.


Ralph Goldsilver
Chair, Finance and Risk Management Committee

Ralph Goldsilver, CA, is a Partner at MNP LLP, Toronto where he specializes in assisting mid-size entrepreneurial companies and institutional investors with their corporate finance, merger and acquisition, and due diligence requirements. Involved in transactions ranging in size from $1 million to $200 million, Ralph has acted for Private Equity Funds, Venture Capitalists, Subordinated Debt Funders, Senior Lenders and private entrepreneurs. Ralph holds an Honours BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an MBA from York University. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO).

Ralph joined the Ontario Region Board in November 2009. He serves as Chair of the Region’s Finance and Risk Management Committee, and is also a member of the National Audit, Finance & Investment Committee.


Dr. Ralph George
Chair, Research and Healthcare Advisory Committee

Dr. George is the Medical Director of St.Michael’s CIBC Breast Centre, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, at the University of Toronto along with a Royal College subspecialty chair for surgical oncology. Dr. George is past president of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. Ralph has been a valued member of the Research and Health Care Advisory Committee since 2007. He has also served as a Grant Review Panel Member for CBCF, each year since 2007. Dr. George is also Chair of the Continuing Professional Development Committee for the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. He also finds time for breast cancer research, with a particular focus on the factors that indicate the likelihood of breast cancer in order to determine who really is at risk of the disease.

Dr. George joined the Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Ontario Region in June 2011, and is the Chair of the Research and Health Care Advisory Committee and member of the National Grants Committee.


Dr. Kathy Pritchard
Vice-Chair, Research and Healthcare Advisory Committee

Dr. Kathleen Pritchard is one of Sunnybrook’s best-known academic physicians. She graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario earning a B. Sc in 1968 and her MD in 1971. Dr. Pritchard was awarded the O. Harold Warwick Prize for Cancer Control in Canada in 2005 by the Canadian Cancer Society and the NCIC for her work in clinical and translational trials in breast cancer. Dr. Pritchard has also served as Chair of the Management Committee of the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Initiative, a partnership which funds breast cancer research in Canada (1999-2002). She is currently Departmental Divisional Director for Medical Oncology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Pritchard’s professional interests are in clinical trials, breast cancer, the career development of oncologists, and the establishment of practice guidelines is demonstrated by these activities.

Dr. Pritchard joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2010. Dr. Pritchard is Vice Chair of the Research and Health Care Advisory Committee and previously served on the Region’s Cause Leadership & Brand Management Committee.


Kelly Battle
Vice-Chair, Finance and Risk Management Committee

Kelly Battle is a CFA and is the Vice President, Relationship Management at Sionna Investment Managers. Prior to that, Kelly spent 14 years at Burgundy Asset Management where she held the role of Vice President and worked with pension funds, foundations and endowments, corporate clients and the investment consultant community across North America. Kelly received her BA in 1992 and her MBA in 1997 from the University of Toronto, and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2001. She has also completed the ICD’s Directors Education Program at the Rotman School, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Toronto CFA Society.

Kelly joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2010, Kelly is also Vice-Chair of the Finance and Risk Management Committee.


Ava Yaskiel
Vice-Chair, Governance Committee

Ava is a partner in the Toronto office of Norton Rose Canada where she practices corporate/securities law. Ava sits on the global Supervisory Board of the Norton Rose Group which is comprised of over 2900 lawyers worldwide. Ava was a member of the national Executive Committee of Ogilvy Renault LLP prior to its joining the Norton Rose Group in 2011. She was previously also co-managing partner of the Toronto office of Ogilvy Renault LLP.

Prior to joining Ogilvy Renault, Ava held a variety of positions with the Ontario Securities Commission prior to which she practised law at Blakes. Ava holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Masters of Law from Cambridge University. Ava has authored numerous securities law related articles and publications and she is a frequent speaker at conferences as well as a regular media commentator on securities related issues.

In 2011 she was honoured with the International Law Office Client Choice Award in recognition of her outstanding client service and was named one of Women Executive Network’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.

Ava joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2010, and is also the Vice- Chair of the Governance Committee.


Camille Quenneville
Board Member

Camille Quenneville is the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division. Prior to joining CMHA, Camille held leadership positions in the educational, governmental and children’s mental health sectors. Prior to her current role, Camille was the Director of Policy and Communications, Children’s Mental Health Ontario (from 2005 – 2012), where she oversaw government relations, lobbying activities and policy development. Camille also developed a province-wide awareness and anti-stigma campaign.

Prior to this, Camille was Chief of Staff to the Minister at the Ministry of Children and Youth Services for the Government of Ontario. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Windsor, a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Ryerson Polytechnic University and a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s College. An active volunteer, Camille has donated her time to St. Jude Community Homes and Toronto City Summit Alliance. Camille is also the Chair of the Breast Cancer Screening Cost Effectiveness Research Project Advisory Committee.

Camille joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2010, and is also a member of the Cause Leadership and Brand Management Committee.

Catharine Farrow
Board Member

Catharine is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of TMAC Resources Inc., a private mineral resource exploration and Mine Development Company, as well as the President of FarExGeoMine Ltd., her own exploration and mining consulting company that has supported projects in both North and South America. Previously Catharine was the Chief Operating Officer of KGHM International Ltd., where she was responsible for mines operation in Canada, the U.S. and Chile, the transition of a US $3 billion dollar project to operations, and an advanced exploration development project in Sudbury. Prior to KGHMI, she held numerous executive roles with FNX Mining Company Inc., and Quadra FNX Mining Ltd., the precursor companies to KGHM International.

Catharine is also an Adjunct Professor at Laurentian University, and a member of the Board of Directors of the non-profit Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. She is an author of dozens of manuscripts in refereed journals.

Catharine received her PhD in Earth Sciences from Carleton University, an MSc in Geology from Acadia University, and a BSc (Honours) from Mount Allison University. She also completed the Executive Development Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Catharine has been the winner of two national professional awards.

Catharine joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2013. Catharine and her husband David Are active fundraisers for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in Sudbury.

Fiona Legere
Board Member

Fiona is an associate at McCarthy Tétrault LLP Intellectual Property Litigation Group. She practices exclusively in the areas of Intellectual Property and Litigation, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent litigation. Fiona received her Bachelor of Medical Science, Honours Specialization in Biochemistry, from the University of Western Ontario in 2006 where she worked as a Research Assistant in a Cardiovascular Genetics Laboratory. She received her JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2010 and was the recipient of the Barry D. Torno Memorial Prize for best intellectual property research paper. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Ms. Legere was a law clerk to the Federal Court of Canada. She clerked for Justices Snider, Crampton and Boivin and was involved in a number of high profile pharmaceutical patent infringement and injunction cases. Fiona has a number of scientific and legal publications.

Fiona joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2014, and is also a member of the Research & Health Care Advisory Committee.


Don Pagnutti
Board of Member

Don is a Managing Director of Corporate Finance Associates, a mid-market investment banking firm. Prior to CFA Don was the General Manager and CFO of Stornoway Communications, an independent Canadian Television Broadcaster that owns and operates 3 digital Television Networks.

Don joined the Ontario Region Board in June 2014, and is also a member of the Finance & Risk Management Committee.

Kerry Danyluk
Board Member

Kerry is a partner at Deloitte. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2006 Kerry was Deputy Chief Accountant at a large Canadian bank where she had responsibility for accounting policy and financial reporting. Kerry is an Ontario CPA, CA with over 25 years experience in public practice, standard setting and industry. She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University.

Kerry joined Ontario Region in June 2014, and has been a member of the Finance & Risk Management Committee since June 2013.
