Bard Canada participates in the Run for the Cure for many reasons. First, we have had a few employees who have been personally touched by breast cancer and we know many others who have been touched by this disease as well. Second, as employees of Bard Canada, we see the impact on a day to day basis of the effect breast cancer has on women. We provide many products to hospitals in this area….from biopsy machines to products that help to reconstruct a breast after surgery. Third, getting involved helps make a difference. We would all love to see a world without breast cancer. Working toward this goal as a team is very motivating and inspiring. Lastly, participating in this event allows us the opportunity to come together to celebrate survivorship, honour those who have lost their battle, and most importantly, raise funds and awareness together for the fight against this life threatening disease.
About Bard: Bard Breast Care Solutions - From Biopsy to Treatment to Reconstruction. At Bard, we're dedicated to helping health care providers deliver uncompromised care to each breast care patient. Our broad line of category-leading products is designed to improve the breast care experience for healthcare providers, their patients and their practices.

Why Involved: Wrigley is a proud supporter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation because breast cancer is a disease that affects so many women. In some way or another, breast cancer has touched each and every one of us. We’re committed and empowered to do what we can to one day create a future without breast cancer. This year, I was overwhelmed by how passionate and engaged Wrigley associates were in our CBCF program and fundraising initiatives. Together, we more than doubled our fundraising goal and increased our CIBC Run for the Cure team by 50%.

Why Involved: Team GCNA Toronto has participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure for the past five years and each year the interest has grown and the group has expanded. The Guarantee Company first decided to participate in the CIBC Run for the Cure in 2007, as the company had wished to initiate a corporate team building activity and due to the commonality of everyone either knowing someone, hearing about someone or having it happen to them personally, the CIBC Run for the Cure seemed like the perfect event to take part in. This year, however, has taken on a larger meaning, as several of our co-workers were diagnosed with breast cancer. Team GCNA is a proud supporter of the CIBC Run for the Cure and hopes to continue participating in this very meaningful cause.
Founded in 1872, The Guarantee Company of North America is the largest surety and fidelity bonding company in Canada. The Guarantee Company has since expanded their business to include selling personal insurance. To date, The Guarantee Company has over 20 offices in Canada and the United States.
