The Opportunity Grant Program was created to enable the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region to respond to community-based projects that are:
one-time events and/or support the production of materials
innovative and catalytic
time-sensitive or time-limited
address an issue within the Foundation’s mandate but may fall outside the decision-making timeframe or basic criteria of the Region’s Community Grants Program
The objective of the Opportunity Grant Program is to provide one-time funding to not-for-profit community groups and organizations within Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwest Territories/Nunavut for small scale community initiatives in breast cancer and breast education and awareness.
Opportunity grants are intended to support initiatives that fulfill the mission and objectives of the Foundation in the areas of health promotion and education across the full spectrum of breast cancer, including risk reduction, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and supportive care.
Requests are accepted on an ongoing basis from April 1st to February 28th. This enables the Foundation to be flexible, responsive to community and emerging needs, and proactive in special circumstances.
