A pledge-based program, individuals, community groups, corporations and schools are encouraged to nominate one or many individuals to brave the razor or wax, and collect pledges from friends and family in order to raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region.
Step 1: Determine who is going to get their head shaved. If it is you, ask others to get involved like your friends, colleagues, boss or principal. Be open to the idea that other people may want to get involved in other ways such as having their moustache or beard shaved or by having a great length of their hair cut off. Your idea may just grow into a headshaving event with several people!
Step 2: Decide where and when you would like your Brave the Shave to take place. Use your imagination - perhaps, ask a local salon to get involved or link the shave to a community event already in place (i.e. sporting event, fashion show or run/walk).
Step 3: Nominate who will do the headshaving! This may be a local celebrity, your highest donor, a local hairstylist or the person you are shaving for.
Step 4: Start your fundraising by collecting your pledges using pledge sheets provided to you by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Look for corporate and community sponsorships while also searching for fun ways to get your family and friends to contribute.

Brave the Shave Partners
The Brave the Shave™ program continues to be a hair raising experience in the Prairies/NWT Region. Thanks to our Regional Partners and Regional Sponsor Western Safety Sign Co., individuals are rewarded quite nicely with a Brave the Shave™ T-Shirt courtesy of Warehouse One and a Brave the Shave™ tuque courtesy of FXR Racing Inc. These items are coveted because they are a continued symbol of their commitment to the cause. The new hairlines of our Brave the Shavers™ are not only making headlines but are raising funds in support of a future without breast cancer.
