The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure could not take place without the support of our caring and community-minded sponsors. It is our privilege to profile CIBC as the event’s Title Sponsor and the full group of National Run for the Cure Sponsors who contribute so much to the success of this event.

On Sunday, October 2, more than 13,000 CIBC employees, their families and friends, took part in the 20th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.
In 2011, CIBC proudly celebrated its 15th anniversary as Title Sponsor and introduced the fifth edition of the successful CIBC Pink CollectionTM, available at CIBC branches across the country. Together, Team CIBC raised more than $3 million, through donations from employees, family and friends, proceeds from the 2011 CIBC Pink CollectionTM and fundraising events - an outstanding contribution to further breast cancer research.
“This is a cause that is very close to our hearts at CIBC, because so many Canadians, including many of our clients, colleagues and loved ones, have been impacted by breast cancer,” said Christina Kramer, CIBC’s Executive Vice-President and the bank’s National Run Champion. “We’ve seen tremendous advances in the detection and treatment of breast cancer in our 15 years as title sponsor of the CIBC Run for the Cure, but there is still much work to be done. We continue to be very committed to supporting the Foundation’s initiatives and Team CIBC is very proud to join the thousands of Canadians who walk, run, and raise funds each year for breast cancer research, education and treatment programs.”
CIBC’s team of dedicated employees continues to make a significant difference and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is truly grateful and inspired by their efforts year over year.

New Balance is proud to support survivors and all those touched by breast cancer.
2011 marked the 7th year that New Balance sponsored the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure and extended their support for breast cancer survivor participants.
On Run day, 12,000 self-identifying survivor participants were given pink technical t-shirts generously provided by New Balance. Leading up to the Run for the Cure, New Balance also sponsors Survivor Clinics, hosted by Running Room. These clinics provide the opportunity to those who have been affected by breast cancer to train for the Run for the Cure and to join an empowering community of supporters with a shared background.
In conjunction with the Foundation’s “Who Are You Running For” Run for the Cure campaign, New Balance spear headed an exhibit at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto that featured painted shoes from Canadian celebrities and breast cancer survivors, during the month of October. The exhibit aligned perfectly with New Balance’s Lace Up for the Cure program which designates proceeds from the sale of a selection of athletic and casual shoes to further support the Foundation’s vision of creating a future without breast cancer.
“New Balance was excited to launch the 2011 Lace up for the Cure program and the “Who Are You Running for” exhibit in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the Run for the Cure. We are proud of the longevity of our program with the Foundation and are inspired by our employees, retail partners and runners who are so supportive of this cause.” Andrew Prendergast, General Manager, New Balance Canada.
